Holiday homes approved for the Bronze Cone – Focus on energy label meet energy requirements that cover a full 90% of the energy consumption of traditional holiday homes.

Energy optimization in relation to:

• Insulation in exterior walls and roof
• Quality of glass in windows and doors
• 50% of the house is heated with a heat pump or district heating
• Lighting with a minimum of 90% LED

Energy-efficient appliances:

• Energy label for water heater and refrigerator
• Swan-labelled or A-rated wood-burning stove or pellet stove

Other measures fulfilled by the holiday homes:

• Water-saving shower
• Fixed clothesline or drying rack that can hold a full load of laundry

If the house has a pool, spa, or hot tub
It meets special requirements for heating, insulation, and coverage. Please note that energy consumption is significantly higher than in a regular holiday home.

Silver Cone – Focus on energy

Holiday homes approved for the Silver Cone – Focus on energy label meet both the minimum energy requirements covering 90% of the energy consumption of traditional holiday homes and go a step further with improved insulation and higher energy ratings for major appliances.

Energy optimization in relation to:

• Insulation in exterior walls and roof
• Quality of glass in windows and doors
• 50% of the house is heated with a heat pump or district heating
• Lighting with a minimum of 90% LED

Energy-efficient appliances:*

• Energy label for water heater, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, washing machine, and dryer
• Swan-labelled or A-rated wood-burning stove or pellet stove

Other measures fulfilled by the holiday homes:

• Water-saving shower
• Fixed clothesline or drying rack that can hold a full load of laundry

*There is flexibility for certain elements under the Silver Cone – Focus on Energy label.

Holiday homes approved for the Gold Cone – Focus on energy label meet the strictest requirements in terms of insulation, energy ratings for major appliances, and include at least 4 additional features in areas such as insulation/windows, solar panels, EV charging options, and biodiversity considerations on the property.

Energy optimization in relation to:

• Insulation in exterior walls, floor, and roof
• Quality of glass in windows and doors
• 100% efficient heating with a heat pump or district heating
• Lighting with a minimum of 90% LED

Energy-efficient appliances:

• Energy label for water heater, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, washing machine, and dryer
• Swan-labelled or A-rated wood-burning stove or pellet stove

Other measures fulfilled by the holiday homes:

• Water-saving shower
• Fixed clothesline or drying rack that can hold a full load of laundry 


Additional measures (at least 4 of the following):

• Floor insulation of 150 mm
• Energy class B windows
• Solar panels to reduce electricity consumption
• Solar air heating and ventilation
• EV charging option (max. 500 m to a type 2 charger or 5 km to a fast charger)
• Biodiversity-friendly landscaping on the property
