Le Brusc

The small fishing village of Le Brusc is located on the small peninsula of Presqu'île de Cap Sicié between Toulon and Marseille. Le Brusc is a charming Mediterranean town that, unlike most coastal towns, is not overrun with tourists. It is a town with many permanent residents, which is why it's lively all year round, unlike the holiday resorts that can be deserted in the off-season.

Le Brusc doesn't really have many attractions to offer, but it's a very cosy town and the location is fantastic. Le Brusc is located in a very scenic area, surrounded by magnificent old villas and protected from the sea by the islands, Îles des Embiez, which you can visit via a ferry that leaves once an hour.

There are many beaches in the area, large wide sandy beaches or small cosy beaches between the cliffs. Le Brusc has a good selection of restaurants and bars and every Thursday there is a market at the harbour. There is also a supermarket and various other small shops in the town.

Activities in Le Brusc

Walking and hiking in the area - From Pointe du Grau there is a small coastal path, sentier littoral, which leads all the way to Cap Sicié.

Golf: There is a wealth of golf courses in the Var department. The French Golf Union has a website where most courses are presented. Unfortunately, the website is in French. Go to Guide de golfs and search here under the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur region: http://www.ffgolf.org/

Climbing: Climbers from all over Europe come here to climb les calenques at Cassis. You can either start from easily accessible places where you have walked or driven out, or directly from the water. In several places the cliffs rise vertically from the sea up to a height of 240 metres. Climbers who start from the sea are taken out by small boats from Cassis harbour or dropped off from the navettes - tourist boats.
