La Londe-les-Maures

The small holiday resort of La Londe-les-Maures is beautifully situated midway between Hyères and Toulon, at the foot of the lush Massif des Maures. This mountainous area is characterised by varied and untouched nature with cork, pine and chestnut forests, making it a great place for nature lovers to explore. The picturesque paths and trails invite you to hike, cycle and discover the local flora and fauna.

Although La Londe doesn't offer the same historical charm as some of the older southern French towns such as Grasse or Vence, it makes up for it with its exceptional location and focus on nature. The town has been around for around 100 years and offers visitors ample opportunity to enjoy the scenic beaches that stretch over 2.5 kilometres from Hyères' old salt production to the Plage du Pellegrin in Bormes-les-Mimosas. The popular Miramar, Tamaris and Argentière beaches are perfect for sunbathing, swimming and relaxing by the sparkling Mediterranean Sea.

La Londe is also known for its Provençal specialities, especially the renowned wine production of the area. The Côtes-de-Provence wines, sourced from the nearby vineyards, are highly sought after and recognised for their fresh and fruity character. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings at the local vineyards, where they can learn about winemaking and sample the flavoursome varieties of rosé that are a signature of the region.

In addition, the area also offers delicious local produce such as flowers, herbs and olives that complement the wines perfectly. Exploring La Londe-les-Maures and its surroundings offers an opportunity to experience the authentic Provençal lifestyle, with cosy markets where you can find fresh produce and local delicacies. Whether you want to relax on the beach or go wine tasting, La Londe is an ideal destination to create unforgettable memories under the French sun.
