Correns

The fortified medieval village of Correns is beautifully situated on the Argens River in the lush hills of the Massif du Bessillon in the centre of the Var department, 64 km north of Toulon. From here, there are plenty of opportunities for excursions in the beautiful Provencal countryside. So if you want to experience the real Provence, Correns is an ideal holiday destination.

The town has a number of historical relics that bear witness to Correns' interesting past. These include a small number of cave dwellings and some Neolithic caves.

The town is very charming with its small streets and many fountains. Correns is also home to the remains of an 11th century feudal castle, Fort-Gibron, whose tower has preserved a pair of dragon heads.

Correns has also been proclaimed the first bio-village in France. The town therefore offers great products that you should definitely take advantage of. The town is also proud to have the only wine cellar in Provence reserved exclusively for white wines.
