Bormes-les-Mimosas

The flower village of Bormes-les-Mimosas is a medieval village located in the lush Massif des Maures in the Var department, just north of the small holiday resort of Le Lavandou and 20 km east of Hyères.

Bormes-les-Mimosas is beautifully situated in the countryside and is built amphitheatrically on a hillside. It's an incredibly pretty and popular village with an abundance of flowers and exotic trees. Bormes-les-Mimosas has been voted one of France's most flowery towns, village fleurie. Bougainvilleas, nerias, hydrangeas, mimosas and eucalyptus are everywhere. There are 30 different species of mimosa in Bormes.

Bormes-les-Mimosas also boasts a beautiful old town with winding, narrow alleys and stairways, beautiful pastel-coloured houses from the 12th century and a 13th-century château. From here you can enjoy panoramic views of the islands, Îles d'Or, Le Lavandou and Massif des Maures. Bormes-les-Mimosas is undoubtedly one of the great gems of the hinterland that should not be missed.
