Agay

Agay is located in a small natural bay on the Estérel coast between Cap Dramont and Pointe de la Baumette. Agay is one of the most beautiful spots on the Estérel coast with its characteristic red cliffs stretching from Cannes in the east to Saint-Raphaël in the west. Agay is known for its 3 very fine sandy beaches and a terraced area with access to the sea via the cliffs.

The lively Agay Plage, the town's main beach, offers breathtaking views of the Estérel massif that dominates the bay. Along the beach there are several cosy shops and cafés. Agay also has a nice little marina. From the mountain peak, Rastel d'Agay, behind the town, you can enjoy impressive views of the Mediterranean. There are numerous hiking routes in the area. Visit the tourist office in Agay to get a guide for the tours. You can also rent mountain bikes in the town.

The town has a selection of local shops, restaurants, cafés and markets, there are several small shops selling everything from Provençal specialities and crafts to souvenirs, as well as supermarkets and smaller shops that cater for everyday needs. There is also a lively market where you can find fresh produce, local products such as olive oil and wine, and handicrafts.

Agay is located on the most unique stretch of coastline along the wild volcanic lava rock massif, Massif de l'Estérel. Along the way, there are car parks where you can stop, take photos and enjoy the sight of the incredible rock formations that plunge into the sea and form small islands and skerries.

If you want to enjoy some magnificent panoramic views, you can turn off the coastal road and follow the forest road ‘route forestier’ up to Mont Vinaigre (628 metres, the highest point in the massif) and on to Pic de l'Ours. From here you can head out to the N7 to reach the interesting Auberge des Adrets, an authentic 17th-century inn and once home to Estérel's Robin Hood, Gaspard de Besse.
