St-Restitut

The small fortified medieval village of St-Restitut is situated on a hilltop in beautiful and lush surroundings between Orange and Montélimar in the Drôme Provençale department.

A holiday in St-Restitut offers great opportunities to explore the surrounding countryside with idyllic medieval villages and old historic cities such as Orange, Avignon, Nîmes and Arles. St-Restitut and the surrounding area also offers a wide range of sports activities including golf, hiking, cycling, skiing, horse riding, climbing and paragliding.

St-Restitut is beautifully situated just east of the Rhône Valley and not far from the legendary Mont Ventoux. The town is completely surrounded by green pine trees, thyme and wild lavender.

St-Restitut offers narrow, winding streets, small shady squares, old, almost white or ochre yellow stone houses with shutters in pale green or blue and the remains of the old city walls. In the city you'll find, above all, a church with an old square tower and an entrance portal with antique decoration and amazing iconography.

Not to be missed is wine tasting in the caves cathédrales, located in an old quarry whose stone was mainly used to build the papal palace in Avignon. It's an amazing place, an underground cathedral that offers exceptional hydrometric conditions for the Cellier des Dauphins wines.
