Large fields of flowering fruit trees in shades of white and pink, lavender, olive groves and famous vineyards characterise this magnificent landscape. The area also boasts ancient castles, charming medieval villages with old stone houses, small winding streets and shady squares, exciting cuisine, fine wines and plenty of fresh air. With its beautiful nature, the Drôme department is an ideal destination for nature lovers. Drôme offers more than 10,000 kilometres of marked hiking trails that allow you to experience the many facets of Drôme at any time of year. In addition to hiking, the Drôme offers a wide range of outdoor activities including cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, climbing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, swimming, fishing, golf, air sports, winter sports, cave exploration and more. Our houses in Drôme are located in and around the medieval village of Nyons, one of the main towns in the area. Nyons is primarily known for its very fertile soil, its special light and its mild climate with 300 days of sunshine a year. The climate in Drôme varies greatly depending on where you are in the department. It can be roughly divided into three different types of climate: North of Valence you have a temperate continental climate. Vercours and Diois have a mountain climate and a mild temperate coastal climate south of Valence. |
