Valbonne

Valbonne is located in lush surroundings in the Provencal hinterland, 13 kilometres north of Cannes. Valbonne is located in the heart of an extremely fashionable residential area, which, due to its fantastic location, is an ideal holiday destination.

The old town has retained its medieval character, but it is also a very lively town. Unlike most other villages in the hinterland, the streets here are laid out in neat symmetrical rectangles carefully modelled on the Roman example of the monks of the Lérins islands. Valbonne is surrounded by fortified houses. There are four entrances to the city, two on each side.

In the centre of Valbonne is the beautiful 16th-century Place des Arcades. This central square is surrounded by picturesque arcades, cafés and small shops. In the lower part of the town you'll also find a 12th-century church, Eglise Saint Blaise, with the neighbouring convent, Ancien Couvent Chalaisien and Moulin des moines, which is now a restaurant.
