Holidays in GrimaudGrimaud is an idyllic little medieval town perched on top of a hill with impressive panoramic views over the valley and the Bay of Saint-Tropez. The town is dominated by an old castle ruin from the 11th century, which is currently being restored. The views from up here are breathtaking. The old town is incredibly interesting with beautiful, well-restored stone houses, narrow, winding streets and small passages through the houses that invite children to play. There is a small selection of cosy restaurants, cafés and a few small shops. In the oldest street in town, Rue des Templiers, you'll find the well-preserved Maison des Templiers, one of the few remaining Templar buildings in Provence. Unfortunately, it is closed to the public. In the same street is the purely romantic church from the 12th century. Out to the bay is the sister city of Port Grimaud, France's answer to Venice with canals and narrow quayside streets. A real centre of attraction and well worth a visit. There are also a number of restaurants here.
